Dungourney was in the news this week following a fantastic, hard fought win against Ballincollig last Saturday night.

The first article “Newly promoted Dungourney stun Ballincollig in PIHC” was published in the Echo shortly after the final whistle was blown. Calling it a “thrilling dog fight” it described how the lads put everything on the line to ensure victory. Every player on the pitch showed fantastic heart, and their determination not to lose caught the assembled Ballincollig crowd (and players) by surprise.

Also in the Echo “Dungourney manager Alan Kelleher speechless after upsetting the odds against Ballincollig” Jack Mckay describes a conversation he had with manager Alan Kelleher discussing the game. Alan said “Look, it’s just our lads, they’ve got something. They’ve got fierce fight, and we’ll dust ourselves down and we’ll go again next weekend against Castlelyons.”
And finally, C103 recorded a short in interview with Alan after the game. Not so speechless after all it would seem! Alan again highlights the heart and spirit our team has, and the interviewer comments on the fantastic Dungourney support that was present on the night.
With the Junior C team in action this Friday, and round 2 of the PIHC on this Sunday we hope to see everyone out again supporting the lads. Dún Guairne Abú!
