Castlelyons have played at this grade since 2010, having recently finished as runners-up in 2020 and 2021. Last year they topped their group beating Carrigaline and Watergrasshill, before losing to Castlemartyr in the Semi-Finals. With players such as Alan Fenton and Anthony Spillane providing the firepower upfront, they will be a tough proposition and eager to finally break through to the senior grade.
Bandon, having been relegated to the premier intermediate grade last year will also be keen to get back up to senior status. Finishing second in their group last year, behind eventual winners Inniscarra, they beat Valley Rovers and Youghal in the group stage before losing to Ballinhassig in the quarter-finals in a very closely fought battle.
And finally, Ballincollig, repromoted to this grade in 2019 will also be a tough battle. Quarter-finalists in 2020, they failed to make it out of the group stages for the past two years. However, having won this years U21 championship, and with rising stars such as Brian Keating, Tadhg O’Connell and James Dwyer, they will be keen to prove they are capable of competing with the best in both codes.
The remaining groups are as follows:
